I am extremely passionate about Indigenous issues, and all facets of Indigenous struggles. I have worked in Treaty Land Entitlement and Specific Lands claims, which allowed me to gain invaluable knowledge of the legal systems for First Nation land claims in Canada. However, this was not the beginning of my introduction to Indigenous politics. I grew up in a home that was surrounded and occupied with people heavily involved in Indigenous politics. Inspiration is when a brother reaches out to help the neighbour across the street because he has run out of milk for his children. When a sister reaches out and helps the neighbour call for police because she knows her neighbour is being robbed and refuses to turn a blind eye. When a piece of paper is falling along the pavement outside your house and you pick it up to put it in the garbage bin or trash can.
